Justin Timberlake won't perform with NSYNC at the Super Bowl halftime show

The 'SexyBack' hitmaker is set to take to the stage at the NFL showpiece on February 4, but his former bandmate Joey Fatone has dismissed speculation he'll be joined by the 'Bye Bye Bye' hitmakers - which also included JC Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick, and Lance Bass - for his performance

Joey told TMZ: "If I was doing something I would be in rehearsal right now. Here's your proof."

But the 40-year-old star insisted he wasn't upset at being snubbed by his former bandmate.

He added: "There's nothing wrong with that. He's doing his thing."

Justin previously caused a stir at the Super Bowl in 2004 when he mistakenly exposed Janet Jackson's breast while on stage, but Joey doesn't think the 'Together Again' singer will be joining his pal this time around.

He said: "He's not the kind of person, he's not controversial like that."

Meanwhile, Justin, 36, recently revealed he had promised Super Bowl bosses there wouldn't be an incident like Janet's wardrobe malfunction this year.

He said: "Naturally, that's something we talked about.

"To be honest, it wasn't too much of a conversation. It's just one of those things where you go like, yeah what do you want me to say, we're not going to do that again."

And the 'Can't Stop the Feeling' hitmaker admitted he had "made peace" with Janet after the incident.

Asked if they had taken time to "resolve the situation" and "make peace of the whole thing" afterwards, Justin said: "Absolutely. I don't know that a lot of people know that. I don't think it's my job to do that because you value the relationships that you do have with people."

Justin admitted the incident occurred because he had his "wires crossed" but he's learned from the mistake.

He said: "I stumbled through it ... to be quite honest, I had my wires crossed.

"It's just something that you have to look back on and go, 'OK, you can't change what's happened, but you can move forward and learn from it."
