    Dog missing after fatal Hauraki crash

    A dog called Stormy is still missing following a collision between two cars on SH2 north of Tauranga which left one person dead.


    Police are appealing for sightings of a dog missing following a fatal crash north of Tauranga last week.

    The collision between two vehicles happened on Friday night in the Karangahake Gorge left one person dead - 19-year-old Kelsey Runga, who had recently posted on social media that she was pregnant.

    Police are still searching for Ms Runga's female dog called Stormy who ran away after the crash and has not been seen since.

    Stormy is tan coloured and appears to be a Staffordshire terrier breed.

    Police are also seeking witnesses to the fatal crash.
