    Woman dies after Waikato crash

    A 34-year-old woman has died in Waikato Hospital hours after crashing into a tree on a rural road. Her husband survived the crash.


    A woman has died in hospital after crashing into a tree on a rural Waikato road.

    The 34-year-old crashed on Tauhei Road, northwest of Morrinsville, on Friday afternoon.

    She was trapped in the car for some time before she could be freed by emergency services.

    She was flown to Waikato Hospital but died at about midnight, police say.

    The woman's husband sustained minor injuries in the crash.
