Coll through to semis in Sweden

Kiwi Paul Coll is into the Swedish Open squash semi-finals after a straightforward victory in Saturday's quarter-final (NZT).

Kiwi squash star Paul Coll has swept aside Egyptian seventh seed Omar Mosaad to make the semi-finals of the Swedish Open.

The nimble 25-year-old trumped Mosaad 11-4 14-12 11-5 on Saturday (NZT) in Linkoping, doing the business in just under 45 minutes.

Coll, seeded third for the event and recently selected for April's Commonwealth Games, will face tournament top seed Ali Farag for a final berth.

Farag is the men's world No.3.

Earlier, Coll had beaten Malaysian qualifier Nafiizwan Adnan 11-13 11-9 11-8 11-4 in the Open first round, continuing this month's sharp form.

He also reached the final of last week's Motor City Open in Detroit, losing in five sets to Egyptian top seed Marwan El Shorbagy.

It would've been his first PSA World Tour title in 15 months.

Coll is currently ranked 13th in the world.
