D-Day on Thursday for Thurston's return

Johnathan Thurston says he will know on Thursday when he visits a shoulder specialist whether he will play in North Queensland's NRL trial against Wests Tigers.

    - article from www.rugbyleague.co.nz

North Queensland co-captain Johnathan Thurston says he will know on Thursday whether his shoulder will be ready for the Cowboys' opening NRL trial against Wests Tigers in Cairns.

Thurston has been sidelined since inspiring Queensland's State of Origin game two win in June.

The former Test playmaker said he expected to get the all clear from a shoulder specialist on Thursday for the February 17 clash with the Tigers, kick-starting his 17th and final NRL season.
