Fifth Harmony's hiatus has "nothing" to do with Camila Cabello

A source told Entertainment Tonight: "These girls have been working virtually every day, non-stop for six years. They needed time on their own. They spent their entire teen lives together, touring, recording and promoting their projects. So, they wanted to explore themselves as individuals, as humans. They all decided together that the end of this tour was a natural break and they could use the time to do some solo projects, whether that be albums or something else. They’re happy and supportive of each other. There is no drama about this hiatus. Since The X Factor began, they have not had the chance to do anything else but be Fifth Harmony. Camila Cabello leaving the group had nothing to do with this break. They have had a No. 1 album since she left and this is entirely about them taking time to be individuals."

The 'Work From Home' hitmakers announced the news in a statement posted to social media earlier on Monday.

It read: "Reflecting on the past six years since we started on 'X Factor', we've realised just how far we've come and we appreciate everything so much, more now than ever. We've really had one hell of a memorable journey together and can't begin to express our gratitude to y'all for coming along with us on this wild ride! After six years gong hard, non stop, we also realized that in order to stay authentic to ourselves and to you, we do need to take some time for now to go on hiatus from Fifth Harmony in order to pursue solo endeavours."
