Kylie Minogue is planning a huge 50th birthday celebration

The 'Stop Me From Falling' singer reaches the milestone age on May 28th and though she doesn't normally enjoy big parties, she's going all out to mark her special day

Australian star Kylie intends on holding the party in London because England has become her adopted home.

Asked if she'll have a 50th birthday party, she said: "That is the plan and it's really out of character for me. I don't do big parties.

"I don't want to commit to the party, but I think this year I'm going to do it. I think I'll have a big party in London."

Kylie split from her fiancé Joshua Sasse last year and channelled her heartbreak into her new album, 'Golden', but she had to ditch the first lyrics she'd written because they didn't make for "good songs" as they were so personal.

Speaking to OK! magazine, she said: "The first phase of writing the album was just where I was getting stuff out of my system and it turned out the songs were not that great. I think I was so focused on just getting the words out that I didn't have enough distance to make it a good song. So I think that was good in retrospect, just to get it out of my system, rebuild myself, regain my sense of self and feel kind of strong again, but feeling very much still in touch with those emotions. I can only speak for myself, but I think it's such a universal subject, why do we do the things we do? Why do we change in a relationship? What are we searching for?"
