Kourtney Kardashian enjoyed an ice cream birthday celebration on Wednesday (18.04.18)

The 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' star marked turning 39 by taking her three children, Mason, eight, Penelope, five, and three-year-old Reign - who she has with ex-partner Scott Disick - for lunch at Taverna Tony in Malibu, California

The feast was documented on Instagram Story, with Penelope carrying out a huge platter of ice cream as the group sang 'Happy Birthday' to Kourtney.

And a source told E! News: "They had a nice table outside on the patio and enjoyed a casual lunch.

"The restaurant took great care of Kourtney and brought over lots of Greek food for the kids to try... They were dipping their bread in hummus and loved it.

"For dessert, they let the kids help make a dessert with pastries, ice cream, whipped cream and fruit. Penelope carried out their creation from the kitchen with Tony, the owner of the restaurant, and they all sang Happy Birthday to Kourtney.

"They left with lots of leftovers and gifts from the restaurant."

Once they returned home, Kourtney was delighted by a rose gold balloon display that read "Happy Birthday, Mom".

Meanwhile, Kourtney's boyfriend, Younes Bendjima , marked her special day by sharing some previously-unseen photos from their relationship on his Instagram Story, while other members of her famous family used their social media accounts to wish her a happy birthday.

Her mother, Kris Jenner, shared a throwback photo from when her oldest daughter was a baby, and wrote: "Happy birthday @kourtneykardash!!!! My first born, my gift from God, my amazing precious blessing!! You have given me so much joy and love and beautiful immeasurable experiences and memories since the day you were born and I thank God every single day that he chose me to be your mom. I'm so proud of you... you are the most amazing mom, sister, auntie and daughter and I love you with all of my heart forever and ever Mommy xo (sic)"

Kim Kardashian West took to Twitter to share her birthday message for her sister.

She said: "Happy Birthday to my friend I've had the longest in my life! Wouldn't know what to do without you! Have the best birthday ever!!!! @kourtneykardash (sic)"

Khloe Kardashian - who gave birth to daughter True, her first child with Tristan Thompson, last week - shared photos of them together on Instagram and wrote: "Happy birthday @kourtneykardash!!!! In any lifetime I would have found a way to have you in my life forever! I can't imagine life without you! Have the best birthday!! You deserve everything and more! Forever and always I love you!!! (sic)"

Brother Rob Kardashian also shared a throwback picture and tweeted: "Happy Birthday to my oldest and wisest Sister ! I LOVE YOU so much!!! I am so Thankful for you and God Bless You with another amazing year! Love Bob(sic)"
