Calls for limits on any new petrol levy
Calls for reasonable limits to be set if there's going to be a levy on new petrol-driven cars.
28 April 2018
The Government is considering a scheme under which money raised on the sale of fossil-fuel vehicles, would be used as a subsidy on electric vehicles.
The AA's Mark Stockdale is pleased the idea's on the table.
But he says some vehicles need to be excluded, such as high powered utes and four-wheel drives, for which there's no electric alternative.
Mr Stockdale says people who need those cars have no choice, and they shouldn't be punished for it.
