Sexual abuse survivor makes plea to Government to include churches in inquiry
A sexual abuse survivor is making a last minute plea to the Government to include churches in the royal inquiry in state care abuse.
30 April 2018
The terms that will guide the inquiry aren't finalised, and the public can put forward ideas until midnight tonight.
The Government's said churches won't be included, despite the Catholic and Anglican churches themselves wanting to be.
Survivor John was sexually abused at his Catholic school in 1981 when he was 14.
He says including churches in the investigation is about doing the right thing, in addressing past crimes.
John says it also demonstrates we don't tolerate any abuse, regardless of who committed it.
