Nearly half of early childhood teachers report workplace injuries
A ChildForum report on workplace safety in early childhood education highlights the risks in the sector.
30 April 2018
Just under 50-percent of teachers in early childhood teaching, reported a workplace injury, mental or physical, last year.
Child Forum chief executive Sarah Alexander, says there are some very unique issues within early childhood education.
She says employers need to be making sure teachers are getting some training when they start.
Alexander says training on manual handling and making sure that work environments are safe is important.
She says it's also important to give these teachers a chance to actually say what's wrong.
