International experts gather to discuss Pike River re-entry
Technical experts from around the world have gathered in Greymouth to develop a plan for re-entry to the Pike River mine.
30 April 2018
They hope to develop a detailed plan for safe re-entry of the drift, including risk assessment on re-establishing the 170 metre seal, and identifying critical equipment needed.
The workshop features experts from the West Coast, Australia and the United Kingdom.
Any plan developed will need to be approved by the Minister Responsible for Pike River Re-Entry - Andrew Little
