New Zealanders spending more on the pokies

But that was less than at the end of 2017 - in line with international trends.
Latest figures from the Department of Internal Affairs show spending totalled 212 million dollars for the quarter.
Over the last 12 months the number of venues fell by 50 to one-thousand-146, and there were 523 fewer gaming machines - but gaming proceeds rose 2.5 percentfrom 866.1 million dollars to 888.1 million.
