Hawke's Bay Council to start random drug and alcohol testing on staff
Central Hawke's Bay District Council is looking to introduce random drug and alcohol testing in an effort to reduce safety risks in the workplace.

All 70 staff members would be subject to a random test.
Chief Executive Monique Davidson says it's to discourage drug and alcohol use.
She says the council is spending public money so there's a duty to provide services in the most efficient way.
