Winger Waisake Naholo and loose forward Liam Squire have re-signed with the franchise and New Zealand Rugby until the end of next year.
Naholo has previously been linked with a move to the Chiefs, but Highlanders CEO Roger Clark says it wasn't difficult to convince him to stay put.
Clark says he's a bit of a legend down south and he doesn't think he was considering going anywhere else.
The Highlanders have also re-signed flanker James Lentjes for the 2019 Super Rugby season and have secured Siate Tokolahi, Kayne Hammington and Rob Thompson through until the end of 2020.
