The Tactix have beaten the Northern Mystics 42-39 in Auckland.
Mainland goal shoot Ellie Bird led all scorers with 25 goals.
The result means the Mystics remain winless from two games.
Blues coach Tana Umaga's welcoming back the experience of second five Sonny Bill Williams.
The two-time Rugby World Cup winner will start against the Hurricanes after seven weeks out with a wrist injury.

Nyika says the IOC's decision will likely dictate whether he receives any government funding.
David Nyika says he'll remain amateur if boxing is confirmed in the Olympic programme and he's able to secure the necessary funding.
He expects a decision in August and, while he waits, Nyika will train with Joseph Parker in Las Vegas and experience the professional game.
