Football Federation Australia CEO David Gallop has confirmed he held a meeting yesterday with Phoenix chairman Rob Morrison, and Gino Marra, the head of the South West Sydney FC A-League expansion bid.
The meeting reportedly consisted of the 'Nix selling half of the club to the consortium, with there reports a memorandum of understanding has been signed between the two parties.
But in a statement, the Phoenix say while some of the approaches are real, the majority are imagined.
The club says while they have had discussions with parties interested in participating in the expansion of the A League, it can be reiterated that the club is not looking to sell its licence.
The statement adds, that Welnix as the owners have consistently maintained they are open to external investors who could bring capital and players to the club.
