The Department of Conservation has received a huge funding boost as the Government continues to make moves before the budget announcement

An increase of 81 million dollars will be spent over the course of four years, to help with the control of predators on conservation land.
The funding will allow DOC to cover almost 1.8-million hectares of forestry, almost ten times as much as they cover at the moment.
Conservation Minister and Green MP Eugenie Sage, says over the past nine years there has been neglectby the previous Government.
She says National had a goal of predator free by 2050 but not a real plan.
Sage says this is progress in actually working towards that goal.
