The Sydney Roosters are continuing to extended their lead over the Warriors in the second half of their NRL match at Mount Smart Stadium

The Sydney Roosters are continuing to extended their lead over the Warriors in the second half of their NRL match at Mount Smart Stadium

    - article from www.rugbyleague.co.nz

The Roosters got out to an early lead, holding a 14 point advantage over the home side at half time.

A short time ago the Warriors remained scoreless, trailing the Roosters 24-nil midway through the second spell.

The Crusaders are closing the gap on the Waratahs following a slow start to their Super Rugby match in Christchurch.

The visitors stunned the defending champions with four first-half tries to race out to a 29-nil lead.

The home side have since scored four tries to trail 29-24 a short time ago.

The Highlanders will be sticking to their guns when they host the Lions in Super Rugby tonight.

The Southerners hit a slight speed bump last weekend lost 38-12 to the Sharks in South Africa.

Assistant coach Mark Hammett says the loss has added motivation.

Kick off from Dunedin's at 7:35pm.

Webb Simpson expects the Sawgrass course to become more difficult over the final two rounds of the Players golf Championship.

Simpson who shot a course record nine-under par 63 in the second round, sits in the lead at 15 under-par.

He's five shots clear of kiwi Danny Lee, who sits in a three-way tie for second.

Simpson says he won't be so aggressive in the days to come.

Kiwi Rebecca Spence has finished 19th at the latest ITU World Triathlon event in Japan.

Commonwealth Games champion Flora Duffy has won the race.
