Point-to-point cameras are being looked into by the Ministry of Transport.
They work by taking pictures at two separate points on a stretch of road, and working out a car's average speed.
The AA's Mark Stockdale says they're generally seen as worthwhile.
But he says drivers are more concerned about people running red lights...and there are only six cameras watching those cameras nationwide.
Stockdale says any analysis of point-to-point cameras will need to show they're a better investment.
