Public submissions on the city council's 10-year plan closed last night, with more than 60 percent more feedback than last time.
Resilience and the environment were some of the talking points that proved most popular.
Community planning and engagement portfolio leader Diane Calvert says it was successful this year because they got the public's attention with new initiatives like projections on buildings and using social media.
She says it meant a lot more people having a say, particularly younger ones.
The council will make a decision towards the end of June on what's included in the long term plan.
