Sam Whitelock has been ruled out and is replaced by Quinten Strange in the run-on side for the Super Rugby match Eden Park.
Coach Scott Robertson says Whitelock hasn't been feeling himself.
He says Whitelock wasn't feeling great earlier in the week so they've given him a chance to freshen up.
Flanker Matt Todd assumes the captaincy in a side that sees All Blacks props Tim Perry and Owen Franks back in the front row.
Number eight Heiden Bedwell-Curtis comes into the run-on side for Pete Samu, while George Bridge replaces Manasa Mataele on the left wing while David Havili returns at fullback.
