Around 10-thousand people have downloaded an app that'll help speed up cancer research

Around 10-thousand people have downloaded an app that'll help speed up cancer research

The Dream Lab app is part of today's National Sleep-in Day, in which those taking part sleep in an extra hour, and let the app access their smartphone's processing power.

That capability is then used to boost data analysis of Australian-based Garvan Institute's cancer research.

Institute's Dr Samantha Oakes says researchers want to find better treatments to ultimately overcome cancer.

More than 60 businesses are taking part in the initiative, and encouraging their staff to sleep in - leaving their phones to churn away.
