A woman has been arrested over damage to headstones at a cemetery in northern Hawke's Bay

About a fifth of the headstones at a family urupa in Raupunga have been destroyed in a vandalism spree over the weekend.
The family claim the headstones were deliberately attacked with a sledgehammer by a disgruntled relative.
A Police spokesperson says a 46-year-old has been arrested and their investigation is ongoing.
Police acknowledge the distress the damage has caused to whanau and community members.
