Australasian emergency services gathering in Christchurch for bi-annual emergency communications conference
Emergency services from around Australia and New Zealand are gathering in Christchurch today for the bi-annual emergency communications conference
23 May 2018
More than 90 people from fire, ambulance, police, and telcos are attending.
Conference co-ordinator, Inspector Kieren Kortegast says it hasn't been held in Christchurch for more than 10 years.
He says part of it is about innovation in Christchurch learning from what they did to keep the services running in a major event.
Kieren Kortegast says it's a great chance to learn off each other as technology is changing so fast.
