Liam Gallagher dedicated 'Live Forever' to the victims of the Manchester terror attack as he opened for the Rolling Stones on Tuesday (22.05.18)

The 45-year-old musician remembered the 22 people who lost their life when a bomb went off in the foyer at Manchester Arena after an Ariana Grande concert on May 22, 2017

Taking to the stage to open for the Rolling Stones' No Filter tour in London, Liam introduced the song, before adding: "This if for everyone in Manchester. Sing along if you know the words."

Liam famously made a surprise special appearance at the One Love Manchester benefit concert, which was held by Ariana Grande at the Emirates Old Trafford cricket ground to raise funds for those affected by the terrorist atrocity.

During the set, Liam performed a rendition of Oasis’ hit single ‘Rock ’n’ Roll Star’, plus his debut solo single ‘Wall of Glass’, before being joined by Coldplay’s Chris Martin for Oasis track ‘Live Forever’. Before playing his last song of the night, he said: "I wanna dedicate this next song to the beautiful people who were killed and injured in the Manchester terror attack."

Liam had previously branded the terrorist attack as “outrageous”.

He said: “It's outrageous. Just so sad. What can you do? It's just f***ing out of order. There are kids and people dying all over the world. And for what? I'd gone to bed early - about 10pm - then got up in the morning to a text from my other brother saying what had gone on and I put the TV on. It's just unbelievable."

And it was the terror attack that inspired Liam to reach out to his brother Noel.

Speaking about sending Noel birthday wishes on his 50th recently, he said: "Well me mam did tell me to do it. Nah she didn't. I swear to God she didn't. Nah, I just woke up, you know with all the stuff that went on in Manchester, I woke up and I just thought: 'You know what? You know, I'm going there. Happy Birthday'. And plus, I wanted to remind everyone he's an old fart now. You know, the old 1.6m followers. There were people going like that: 'What? he's 50?' I was like that: 'Indeed. Yes, he is.' Especially after his mad party and that. He gotta have a hangover now."
