Napier tradies are being encouraged to engrave their tools to prevent the rising threat of theft

Police are seeing an increase in vehicle break-ins targeting tools and mag wheels.

Acting Sergeant Peter Gimblett recommends engraving tools with a drivers' licence number to help reunite them with their owners if recovered.

He also asks that people think twice if they're offered stolen goods, and report suspicious sellers.
