Blues coach Brad Fittler is expected to call on a record 11 debutants for game one, as New South Wales desperately try to turn a new page after 12 years of Origin torment.

Queensland's list of rookies will be significantly shorter, but they have to replace 101 games of Origin experience following the retirements of Cameron Smith, Cooper Cronk and Johnathan Thurston.

The Maroons side is about to be named , with the Blues squad to follow tonight.
