University of Otago medical student Victoria Catherwood will present her documentary about her mother's battle with terminal cancer, and her own recent brain tumour diagnosis.
Miss Catherwood says her mum has had a terminal diagnosis for five years, and has been using cannabis as a medicine for the last two.
She says her mum noticed a whole lot of benefits, and has been able to reduce the amount of conventional medicine she takes.
The Focus on Medical Marijuana event will take place at 5.30 at the Dunedin Hospital.
