The former New Zealand captain succumbed to the injury ahead of the Wests Tigers' 24-14 NRL loss to the Cronulla Sharks and he's been ruled out for up to six weeks.
Marshall was in contention for the Kiwis' one-off test against England in Denver this month, six years after last playing international rugby league.
Meanwhile, Jesse Bromwich has suffered a hamstring injury in the Storm's 32-16 win over the Brisbane Broncos in Melbourne.
