Centre Jack Goodhue, second five-eight Sonny Bill Williams and prop Tim Perry have all trained with various intensity as the side prepares for the second test in Wellington on Saturday.
Assistant coach Ian Foster says while they remain hopeful of seeing the trio available within the next two tests, they don't want to rush them back if they aren't ready.
He says one session doesn't make them ready for international rugby, so they need to make sure they are fit enough that they won't re-injure themselves.
