Dua Lipa has urged her fans to surround themselves with "honest" friends

The 22-year-old singer - who has recently emerged as one of the world's most in-demand pop stars - has urged her Twitter followers to embrace those people who will give them honest, unfiltered life advice, because they're ultimately a positive influence

She wrote on the micro-blogging website: "You should keep your friends and loved ones close, trust your gut and go with your instinct. Never let go of the people that are nothing but honest with you, that have ur best interest at heart with no strings attached. Love them with everythin you have bc they deserve the world [sic]"

The London-born beauty subsequently reached out to a fan, who admitted to agonising about "letting go of people".

Dua's fan wrote: "I think my biggest fear is letting go of people, despite them being so toxic but i'm learning and i'm learning to love myself and love the people who deserve my love. so. thank you. [sic]"

And the 'New Rules' hitmaker replied: "Oh my darling I think a bigger fear is allowing yourself to stay around toxic people for too long. You'll recognise the good ones its obvious they'll warn you about the bad ones. Trust them even if its the hardest thing you do xx [love heart emojis] [sic]"

Despite this, Dua urged her followers not to be afraid of loving with all of their heart, even though there's a risk that the friendship could ultimately fail.

She wrote: "Love is the most wonderful thing in the world. Dont be afraid to love with all youve got. When it doesnt go your way its not the end it just builds you up for your perfect future. It's waiting for you [love heart emojis] [sic]"
