A suspicious fire at a school on Auckland's North Shore has been put out

One fire truck is staying on scene at Birkenhead College, where a sports field changing shed was set alight sometime before eight o'clock this evening.

A Fire and Emergency spokesperson says the burnt-out building is well away from the school, in a sports field.

A fire investigator has finished examining the scene.
