Dog owners have used social media to tell others to avoid the park after they say a dog died from consuming rat poison in the area.
One person says last weekend they saw a homemade sign notifying people of the use of poison.
But council spokesperson Agnes McCormack says council isn't undertaking pest control, and if it was, they would clearly signpost the area.
Ms McCormack says it's possible a local resident has baited the park, and if that is the case, poison needs to stay on their private property.
