Chris Cornell's daughter Toni has shared a duet of her singing Prince's 'Nothing Compares 2 U' with her late father

The Soundgarden star tragically took his own life in Detroit, Michigan on May 18, 2017, and to mark Father's Day (17.06.18) the rocker's 13-year-old girl shared a touching tribute to her dad by posting their cover of the late 'Purple Rain' hitmaker's song, which they had recorded together before Chris' death

Toni - who has siblings Lillian, 17, and brother Christopher, 12 - also shared an emotional message, thanking the Audioslave vocalist for being "the best father, whilst admitting that she wishes she could relive the day they sang together "100 times over".

Alongside a clip of their haunting and beautiful cover, Toni - who appears as a baby in her father's arms on the artwork - wrote on Chris' Instagram: "Daddy,

I love you and miss you so much. You were the best father anyone could ask for. Our relationship was so special, and you were always there for me. You gave me courage when I didn’t have any. You believed in me when I didn’t. I miss your love everyday. Recording this song with you was a special and amazing experience I wish I could repeat 100 times over and I know you would too. Happy Father’s Day daddy, nothing compares to you. [sic]"

Chris' widow Vicky hosted a vigil to mark the one-year anniversary to his death on May 18 at Los Angeles' Hollywood Forever cemetery.

She shared in a statement at the time: "It is with great emotion I reach out to all of you as the one year anniversary of my husband's passing approaches. Chris was loved, so much, by so many. The children and I are so grateful to you all for being by our sides throughout all of this. Your love has created a close-knit community, more like a family, to grieve with, to provide support, and to help us heal. We could not have gotten through the last 12 months without you.

"We want to open this up to you, our extended family, and invite you to join us on this day of prayer and remembrance to pay our respects together.

"As we know, there are millions of fans and not everyone can physically be there. We would be honoured if you share posts and videos of how Chris' music has touched you. We can feel your love no matter how far. Light a candle, say a prayer, speak his name. [sic]"
