The latest Trade Me Property Price Index reveals a tale of two halves for prices across the country

The latest Trade Me Property Price Index reveals a tale of two halves for prices across the country

The May report shows no change in Auckland's average asking price when compared with May 2017 ... but record asking prices in six other regions.

Hawke's Bay's average asking price lifted almost 18 percent to 534 hundred thousand dollars, while Taranaki and Marlborough's average increased around 13 percent.

Head of Trade Me Property Nigel Jeffries says it comes down to more Super City residents seeking a better work-life balance.

He says a number of Aucklanders are looking to the regions for investment properties, or to move their family there.
