Bumper regional house prices have been recorded in the May 2018 Trade Me Property Price Index

Six regions have hit a record average asking price on May 2017.

Hawkes Bay average prices are up 17.9 percent, while Taranaki and Marlborough have both jumped up more than 13 percent.

Head of Trade Me Property Nigel Jeffries says the trend doesn't look to be stopping anytime soon.

He says there'll be reasonably strong price growth in the regions over the next 12 months as interest from bigger cities continues.
