NNew Zealand Rugby boss Steve Tew believes it may be worth looking at the red card process in rugby

Tew is backing both the process referee Angus Gardner came to in awarding the red card to French fullback Benjamin Fall in the second test against the All Blacks, as well as the World Rugby judicial decision to rescind it.

However, Tew concedes there may need to be a discussion around punishments.

He says the impact of a red card is significant and whether it's too significant may be something worth considering.

Tew says he can understand why people feel frustrated about the test changing with the red card, but it also changed by the All Blacks losing the world's best player in Beauden Barrett.
