    Kate Heffernan's hoping to remain a dual sport athlete for as long as she can


    The 18-year-old has joined the Southern Steel's fulltime roster for the remainder of the ANZ Premiership netball season, after making her debut for the White Ferns earlier this year.

    Heffernan says she loves bouncing between both sports as they're so different.

    She says they're both long seasons, so it's great to to do something different and helps her enjoy them both more.

    The Southern Steel meet the Northern Mystics in the ANZ Premiership tonight.

    Centre pass from Auckland's at 7:40pm.
