A number of train services have been cancelled as Wellington wakes up to the first icy morning of the season

It's a chilly start to the day with temperatures in the negatives in Porirua, Kapiti and Hutt Valley.
Metlink says a number of services on the Kapiti and Hutt Valley lines are experiencing delays because of ice on the overhead lines, forcing the cancellation of some services.
It's also asking people to take extra care walking on train platforms this morning due to the icy conditions.
MetService's Melissa Oosterwijk says it's the first time this winter there's been no cloud hanging over the region keeping the warmth in.
She says without the cloud there's plenty of time for the ground to cool and frost to start forming from the dew.
