Dylan Nuku has today pleaded guilty in the High Court at Wellington to one charge of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and another of possessing a firearm.
The 26-year-old shot taxi driver Alem Tessema in the shoulder in Miramar last November.
Nuku and his 17-year-old co-accused, Paris Te Aroha Ohuka, had made their victim drive in circles before finally giving an address to drop them at.
Ohuka is set to stand trial after pleading not guilty to similar charges.
Justice Francis Cooke also issued Nuku his first strike, under the three strikes law.
He's been remanded in custody until sentencing in August.
