    Anyone who saw a crash involving a car and two pedestrians on Blenheim Road this afternoon is asked to contact the police


    Emergency services were sent to the scene between Matipo Street and Acheron Drive, heading towards Hornby, at 3.45pm.

    The elderly pedestrian has moderate injuries and tonight is in Christchurch Hospital.

    His eight-year-old grandson has minor injuries and was taken to hospital as a precaution.

    The driver of the car was not injured and is assisting Police enquiries.

    Anyone who saw what happened is asked to contact Christchurch Police.
