Three iwi-based companies have bought a 98 hectare plot of green and gold Kiwifruit in Te Puke, Bay of Plenty.
The chair of one of these companies, Paul Quinn of Ngati Awa Group Holdings, says it's a significant long-term investment.
He says it's an intergenerational investment, which will provide jobs and good income.
Quinn says it's a strong move for the tribe, confirming the importance of Maori participation in the provincial economy.
