People are being urged not to take risks in an effort to keep warm and dry on these cold nights

Tenants managed to escape uninjured from a Housing New Zealand property that caught fire in Wellington yesterday.
The cause has yet to be determined, however reports from the scene point to a faulty electric blanket.
Housing NZ spokesperson Quentin Bright says checking your electrical devices and mopping up condensation are important ways to keep yourself safe, warm and healthy this winter.
He says they check in with all of their tenants as the temperature cools.
