A big drop in the number of properties on the market

The latest figures from realestate.co.nz shows there was a 10 percent drop in listings last month across15 of the country's 19 regions.

It says buyers are out there and prices are holding.

The biggest drop in listings was in Gisborne down more than 41 percent.

But spokeswoman for Bayleys in Gisborne Karen Raureti says there's been a turn around, they listed 11 properties over the past week.

She says their listings are up again heading into the middle of winter.

Karen Raureti says there's still a real confidence in the market, with multiple offers and buyers coming through.
