Tauranga City Council has received 158-million dollars in 10-year interest-free loans to improve water and wastewater infrastructure.
The money will allow the council to cope with growth caused by high housing demand.
Meanwhile, Waikato District Council has received 38-million dollars in loans to build major infrastructure around Te Kauwhata.
It will enable almost three-thousand new homes to be built in the town, which urgently needs extra housing.
