Redundancies are on the cards with a proposal to reduce manufacturing at its Wiri factory in south Auckalnd.
The company plans to sell off some of its lolly brands like Life Savers and Oddfellows so it can focus on its chocolate, baking and medicated lozenge brands.
It's starting consultation with staff as the proposal will see 55 people go out of a workforce of 270.
Nestlé Confectionery General Manager Martin Brown sayst Nestlé regrets that the proposal will mean job losses.
He says Quadrant is ready to buy the confectionary range Nestle is quitting and has indicated it will offer Wiri staff losing their jobs roles at its factory in Levin.
