Will.i.am wants Sarah Ferguson to join the Black Eyed Peas on tour

The 'Voice UK' judge is set to hit the road later this year with his band and he's hoping that he can persuade the former royal - who was married to Prince Andrew from 1986 until 1996 - to sing because lead vocalist Fergie can't take part

He told The Sun's Bizarre column: "I was gonna call Princess Beatrice and take her mum's offer up, we're going to bring the duchess in. I'm sure nobody will notice."

And the 43-year-old hunk should have no problem getting in contact with the duchess as they previously bonded when they met Oprah Winfrey to discuss a poetry project.

He explained: "We talked about doing a project together because she has awesome poems, poetry that she does. Her and Oprah, we hung out. We were bumpin' in the car in the whip and Fergie was like, 'Yo, turn that s*** up'."

Will is to hit the road with his band mates Taboo and apl.de.ap for a 12-date tour around Europe on October 27 but their lead singer Fergie is unable to attend because of other work commitments.

This isn't the first time she's been unable to make it and the female vocals have previously been covered by the likes of Lydia Lucy - who shot to fame on 'The Voice' in 2016 - Ariana Grande and former Pussycat Dolls star Nicole Scherzinger.

The Black Eyed Peas' tour comes after Will decided he didn't want to travel solo after he felt "lonely" when he sold out the O2 Arena in London back in 2013.

He said: "I remember when I went on tour by myself for WillPower. I was at the O2 I'm like, 'Man I sold out the O2 by myself and I'm on stage freaking sad as s***'.

"I'm like, 'I don't like this, I don't like performing by myself'. Like, I missed my guys I missed my best friends. And I quit touring, I stopped. I did Europe, France Germany the UK it was a great arena run and I'm like, 'I can't I don't want to do this'.

"I've been waiting to tour with my best friends ever since so it's going to be like lots of fun. But I just look forward to like, 'Yo it's 1pm you wanna go get some lunch?' That's what I want to go on tour for, I want to go on tour for what you do on your days off."
