The Christchurch City Council will spend 200-thousand dollars to get homeless off the streets
13 July 2018
The money will go towards the government's Housing First initiative.
The aim is to house 100 people in two years.
Councillor Glenn Livingstone says the council needs to fund these basic needs.
He says in terms of recovery as a city, there is little point in Christchurch having flash buildings if people can't be housed.
Glenn Livingstone says it's important councils show commitment to government initiatives like this.
