    Japan international Mafi was charged with a criminal offence after an alleged assault on former Wallaby Timani following the season-ending Super Rugby defeat to the Highlanders.



    SANZAAR chief executive Andy Marinos wants referees to take full responsibility for on-field decisions.

    The four-headed organisation will undertake a review after criticism of the television match official process, before taking their recommendations to World Rugby.

    Marinos says it's important referees call matches how they see them.



    New Zealand's leading road cyclist is staying put - George Bennett has re-signed with LottoNL-Jumbo until 2021.

    The 28-year-old has been riding for the Dutch-based team since 2015 and secured his best grand tour result this year with eighth in the Giro d'Italia.



    No concession of the Tour de France's yellow jersey from Greg Van Avermaet as the race moved into the Alps on stage 10.

    Prop Toka Natua has been ruled out after suffering a hamstring injury last week and first-five Victoria Subritzky-Nafatali has had a knee injury to contend with.

    The 28-strong squad features eight uncapped players and will be led by hooker Fiao'o Fa'amausili.
